Making Parish Councils Pastoral

Mark F. Fischer, Paulist Press, 2010.

The author offers some practical ways and anecdotes about how parrish councils can be effective by focusing on the work they are supposed to do.  Their role is to:  serve the apostolate of the pastor, helping the pastor to exercise the ministry of parish leadership in a deliberataive and consultative manner.  He outlines the tasks and qualities of council members.

This is a must read for pastors and council members both new and old.
